McCall is about two hours north of Boise by car.

For those joining us from out of state, the best option is to fly into the Boise Airport (BOI), and rent a car to reach McCall.

Our venue is Shore Lodge - 501 W Lake St, McCall, ID 83638.

Stay a night, or more!

Accommodations are available at Shore Lodge where we have a room block under “Jackson Day Wedding.” The Lodge has a variety of offerings including lake-front view suites and pet-friendly rooms. It is a AAA four-diamond property and offers pools, a spa and nightly activities, plus two in-house restaurants and a bar/lounge.

October is off-season in McCall, which makes room options plentiful and affordable across the city and surrounding area.

A few of our favorites are Hotel McCall, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, or a variety of VRBO or InIdaho vacation rentals.

A note about the weather

The weather in mid-October in McCall can vary significantly. The past few years have seen high temperatures range from 70° in 2015 to as low as 40° in 2017. The average high for October 12 is 57°, with a low of 25°.

Our event is entirely indoors, however.

Moral of the story: you will at least want to pack a coat, and check the forecast before you pack your bag.

We selected McCall for our wedding day because of the meaning it has in both of our lives. We love it for the beauty, array of activities and peaceful serenity. If you decide to arrive early or stay late, here are a few suggestion for October.

Eat & Drink

Salmon River Brewery - lunch or dinner. Great pub food in a fun atmosphere overlooking the lake. A ton of beers on tap, plus a few ciders and wine too.

Fogglifter - breakfast. A nice quick-grab option right next to Hotel McCall.

The Pancake House - breakfast. A tourist attraction in its own right, The Pancake House has large breakfast options, plus an extensive Christmas House gift shop and more to see.

Cafe 6-three-4 - breakfast or lunch. This is a newer option in a quieter location over on the east side of town near the golf course. Great nitro coffee and tea plus really great Idaho-inspired dishes.

The Narrows Steakhouse - dinner. A higher-end option for dinner, located in The Shore Lodge.

Hit the links - McCall has a municipal golf course not too far from the lake that is affordable. Jug Mountain Ranch just southeast of town is a little nicer, but worth the extra coin.

Spa day - The Cove McCall has a variety of offerings and packages for some pre-wedding pampering.

Standup Paddle Boards - If the weather is warm and the sun is shining, you can get some late season SUPing in! We reccomend Mile High Sports for rentals.

Ponderosa State Park - a four-season getaway just on the edge of town. Beautiful scenic hiking trails with sweeping views of Payette Lake and secluded forest hideaways.

Apex Electric Bikes - Rent an electric pedal-assisted bike and zip around the streets and pathways in and around town.
