Analyst: Hastings closure pushes Boise retail vacancy rate up, again

According to the latest market report from Thornton Oliver Keller, the Boise market saw its fifth straight month of increased retail vacancies - driven largely by the closure of five Hastings stores in the area, as part of the retailer's bankruptcy.

Hastings left 107,000 square feet empty - including on Boise Ave, Fairview Ave, Overland Rd. and in Nampa.

The vacancy rate now stands at 8.6%, according to TOK.
