Edmark GM Superstore sells out to Kendall chain

Edmark Superstore - one of Idaho's largest car dealers, has been purchased by Kendall Auto Group.

Edmark anchors the Idaho Center Auto Mall in Nampa and is one of the top dealers in the star in terms of volume.

Kendall is headquartered in Boise, though the bulk of its locations are outside the state - in Oregon, Washington and a large presence in Alaska. Kendall purchased the former Meridian Ford in 2012, giving it a beachhead in the market.

The deal by the Edmark & Chalfant families to sell the dealership to Kendall was actually signed last year, BoiseDev has learned. Papers were filed to merge Edmark into Kendall in November, with the deal being announced publicly Monday.

Kendall created a business entity with the State of Idaho on January 5th.

IPT reports Kendall will retain former Edmark employees for now, and has renamed the store "Kendall at the Idaho Center Automall." The location will continue to sell GMC, Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Kia and used vehicles.
