Boise Towne Square to get burger joint, Egyptian restaurant

A pair of stories from the Idaho Statesman of note to folks who frequent Boise Towne Square Mall:

GoodBurger will go into the old McDonald's space in the food court. According to the paper, the new restaurant will feature Snake River Farms beef, milkshakes and more.

Next door, the long-empty Taco Time space will feature Aladdin Egyptian Cuisine - a restaurant that closed more than a decade ago on Broadway Ave.

Another McDonald's closes

The McDonald's in Boise Towne Square has closed.

It is the latest in a string of local Golden Arches locations franchised by Darmody Enterprises to close in recent years - including a standalone store on Apple St., and express kiosk in the Airport Chevron and a location inside the Boise Airport.

Efforts to reach the Darmody family were not successful.

This leaves a second vacancy in the food court- the Taco Time next door has been vacant for quite some time.

The fancy retailer of handbags, watches and shoes has shut down its outlet in the Boise Towne Square.  No reason given.

Kors was part of a mini-boom of luxury retailers to open at the mall in recent years - including next door neighbor Coach.
